More Rankings

Trophys, rankings, what have you

A great system to encourage others

Example: A small icon indicating the user has had a project curated

Obviously the system would need tweaking to not cause MASS DESTRUCTION AND MAYHEM but is there really a problem otherwise?

Re: More Rankings

You mean like rewards that appear on the user's page or below your forum username? Not so sure about this, Scratch is meant to be an educative tool and having this would be a bit unrelated to the purpose, perhaps causing competition or a sense of "I have rewards so I'm better".

Re: More Rankings

I've never really agreed with a ranking system other than what we have now. (Which exists solely for functional purposes.) The main problem with any sort of ranking or "trophy" system is that it distracts users from the actual purpose of what they're doing. It tends to turn something that's supposed to be educational into something competitive, which isn't very good for the community. JTxt actually had a pretty good post on it here; I recommend reading it.

Re: More Rankings

Furthermore, this has been suggested beforesmile

I do understand what you're suggesting is a bit different, though; so we'll keep this topic open for the time being. I'd highly recommend reading through that thread.
