Old-timers and students of video game history are familiar with the "classic" quarter-eating video console games that sprang up in the early '80s. Those games were fairly simple and make great Scratch projects. Despite their simplicity, they had engaging game play (to keep you feeding the machine quarters) and spawned hundreds of variations. This gallery is for the space-faring variety of these games, to qualify, Scratch projects need at minimum:
A "Space" theme
The "Look and Feel" of an Arcade game
Inspired by projects are OK - direct copies aren't
Splash/Instruction Screen
Engaging play with good Replay value
Appropriate Sounds
Multiple lives
Scoring
Also good to have:
Levels
Variety of Enemies
A Storyline (in project notes or on Splash Screen)
I've chosen a project by one of the self recognized Grand Masters of Scratch games as the inaugural project, do you have, or know of, others that should be included?
