Ok so where's the Straight discussion thread?

Actually, there are a bunch of posts about heterosexual crushes and such.
I hate the use of the word "straight" in that sense, as if heterosexuality is the right way to be and anything else in wrong.

Uh that's not the same thing at all. This isn't a topic where someone is claiming to have a crush on a person of the same gender (or any person at all), it's talking about gay people as if they're some alien species that needs to be talked about. It's not exactly the same thing but it's like making an African-American(/British/whatever) Discussion topic. You can replace almost every instance of gay with African-(American/British/etc.) in the topic post (No I'm not saying it's the same thing, I'm saying it's offensive to gay people just as it would be offensive to black people).

Besides that, you guys are all kids and won't be able to understand until a few more years so stop with this 'bi' thing, I don't believe it. Your identity is still developing and will for a long time. It seems as if people here are using it as more of an attention thing. Just saying

And if you really believe that EVERYONE HERE can't understand and is faking for a atention, and you really think you know better than anyone, I'm going to flame you to Heck and back again.

You can say that, but I know several gay people and I'm 13 years old.  What do you mean by "stop with this 'bi' thing"?

Umm...what?

I don't think anyone here is stating that gay people are different and need to be talked about. We're trying to discuss how people treat them, and talking about how they're no different from other people. Hetrosexual people do not get this kind of treatment, as there are more hetrosexusal people than those who do.

Kane was quite young when he found out he was gay.
And I'm pretty sure he wouldn't feel 'insulted' that we're discussing his sexuality.

How is being bi/homosexual 'attention seeking'? :L
I had that card played to me when I self harmed: 'you're just an attention seeking little **** and you deserve to die!'
I didn't do it to attention-seek, in the same was a gay person does not wake up and say 'OMGOMG I wanna be gay, then people will love me!'

Back on topic, I agree with Albertt and TDD.  We're not talking about gayness as though it's weird and awkward and bad, we're talking about it because it's good.

I just HAD to come & help Albertt911 get the point across :3 He told me this had been bumped again ._. I just don't see how it's attention-seeking.
Self-harmers do so to let out emotions and punish themselves by inflicting pain.
LGBT - Because they aren't attracted to the opposite gender etc., and aren't afraid to stand up for their own sexual beliefs.

NOT attention-seeking. :3

@Pluto, thanks! :') And yeah, we're spreading awareness C:

Yeah, attention seekers would be like this: "OMG I'm gonna pretend to be gay so everyone notices my awesome awesomeness!"
Gay is like this: "This is what I believe, this is what I feel, and I don't care if people say it's wrong because I know in my heart it's right."

It's good to see a healthy discussion about gender identity and community acceptance!  I'm sure it's an issue for many of our members, no matter what their age.

It's good to remember that underneath all the labels and stereotypes - people are simply people.    Everybody deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.

paddle has a good point there

there's no such thing as "girly" or "manly..." just generalities or tendencies

and even if there was, it doesn't make a person inferior or superior to defy those boundaries. It just is what it is.
