The title says it all. I know this rule was designed to prevent spam, but when I got featured a while ago it was a pain. I felt that I should thank everyone for their support, but my comments ended up like this:
thanks
thanks!
thanks :)

:D thanks! :D
and so on. It got very annoying very quickly. Besides, why would I be spamming myself? Why would I spam on my own project? :P
Therefore, I think this should be disabled when you are posting on your own projects.

Count me as a supporter as well. This would cut down on a lot of, well, what you posted with all the different smilies in different places. Support!

Whoops, wrong link. Fixing now...
...Yes, that was just an excuse for a bump.

Everyone, vote! This will make replying to supporters much easier! (If you've ever been on the front page, I think you know what I mean). Plus, I think it should be pretty easy to implement.

I voted for it!

Does anyone else agree?

Good point, though I usually write a little more as I don't reply much.

I support... As long as the message does not contain a link.
There is no advantage to be gained by spamming your own project. EXCEPT:
If someone wanted to advertise one of their own projects, they could spam every comment ever made to their projects with a link. That would be lame.

That would be harder to implement, though. Besides, I doubt anyone would do that--to be honest, 90% of spammers don't have good projects anyway.

I had to do stuff like that when my project was on the FP.

I don't support. On a maybe curated project, the creator isn't accustomed to popularity and might try to advertise his/her other projects by post the links on every comment. It would spam their project, yes, but also the inboxes of all the commenters.

BoltBait mentioned the same thing. Perhaps it would remove all URLs?
