It's an interactive story.
I have an idea, maybe like an RPG with objectives?
Like
Day 1: May 12th.
Hint: Find the Rifle.

But that would make it a game. Go look at the example project that the Scratch Team has made - (link to project)

Yeah, that does sound nice! Would it be camping in the wilderness, with bears and such?

If it has a storyline and interaction, it still counts.

My idea is that you get lost in the middle of the woods and you need to find your way back to camp (Since the title is collab camp). Along the way you have to go through different types of mazes and other problems.

That sounds excellent.
Someone needs to start the plot.

My ideas I just thought of: btw, I suggest you not tl;dr it.
•each story panel has a challenge, instead of just clicking people or something... for example, if in the story you encounter a bear, maybe you'd have to move the mouse away from the bear for 30 or so seconds?
•make the challenges mandatory? But that might make it seem more like a game…
•make a score for each challenge and you add it up? But that also may make it seem like a game... If this were to occur, each challenge does not have to be
played, abd can only be played at most once.
And something not related to challenges:
•a toy on each page, sort of like levers be vectorpark.com, but maybe simpler?
•plot idea: you go with your friends, a group of two boys and two girls, and you can choose your gender character
•plot idea: you and your friends go camping, your parents drive you there, drop you off for a week (of course, the characters are high school aged). They find a spot, set up camp, and do normal campy stuff. Then several pages later, the not main character boy decides to explore. They go as a group and decide to go off the path. They get lost and stuff. They eventually find their way back. The main person whose gender is opposite of the chosen on by the reader's tent breaks. Stuff happens. Seven days pass but their parents don't come to pick them up. Another day passes and they are running out of food. They start relying on wild animals and plants for food. They do that for two more days and their parents come. Apparently on the way to pick them up, the car crashed and so some people were injured. They healed quickly and drove to pick up the kids.
So, those are my ideas, sorry if I'm no a good writer and the plot is weak. It's a start and we can improve on it.

Interesting... what if its like an RPG story type thing?

Has anyone else started creating a storyline for kayybee's idea? I can start today, and I'll probably be done by tomorrow.
EDIT: I have a slightly different idea, and I'll write it in text; tell me if it's decent and if we can work off it. I'm not the best writer, but I'll do my best.

That would be great. If you do well, you might even get a level up!

EDIT: Copy and paste it into a text editor for better reading experience.
<INSERT COOL TITLE HERE>
This is the main storyline. Dialog not included.
BACKSTORY:
Three friends, two boys and a girl, persuade their parents to let them go camping
by themselves for a period of two days. The problem: The parents heard 5 days, so
now the children have to survive for an extra three days because the they only have
enough food for two days.
MAIN:
It is the third day of their camping trip. All three kids are starving, so the
oldest boy (14) goes in search for food. A whole 3 hours later he doesn't return home
back, so the others split up and go in search for him. They set out in his direction
but after a few hundred yards or so they go in different directions, calling out his name.
As it turns out, he actually did NOT get lost, but just stayed out or so long so as
to not come back emptyhanded. After the fourth hour he was so tired, he set off back,
not hearing his name called over and over due to exhaustion. When he reaches the campsite, he
looks everywhere for his friends but cannot find them. Then he realizes that he has been
gone for a long time, and his friends got worried and left in search for him. After resting
a few minutes, he goes out in search for them. (Maybe insert cool minigame here) He finds
them, and (something dangerous happens here) they barely get back to camp, and try to
find a place to call their parents because they have come very late.
They walk miles and miles to the nearest convenience store and call their parents
Their parents come and save them from death by starvation.
==THE END==
Yup, I'm a bad writer...

Maybe instead of a conv. store, they have to live out the full 5 days?

Well, they don't have any money but they get the store manager to let them use his/her cell phone.
I was thinking 5 days would result in a very long story
Was shooting for 3 and a half.
If you think 5 days is ok, then sure!

Well, the theme is an interactive story, so we are making one about a girl and boy going camping.

If there are any problems with the game, an editor fixes them. When the final version comes out, an editor tries the game and suggests improvements and also looks for little problems that show up (Such as grammer, punctuation, spelling, programming) and fixes them too.

That's a great idea! Maybe you could be a programmer and an editor? I would, but my bugtracking skills are minimal, I usually get one of my folks to do it

Hey Sidharth your idea sounds cool we could work it out soon or something.

Thanks! If JJ's online sometime today I'll ask him whether I should start it from the seed!
By the way, the "seed" is what the Scratch Team calls the project that has the base of an interactive story. They like it if we remix it
