3DS Support

The title says it all. There should be a limited 3ds support in scratch, though it will probably not happen since the 3ds' browser does not support flash  sad  . I wish the scratch team would at least make a way to play scratch on the 3ds.

BTW: does anyone know a programming language for the 3ds? I know there is one in DSi shop, but only in asia

Re: 3DS Support

Suggestions for Scratch viewers on portable systems show up very often, and the answer is always the same: it's not going to happen.

It's really stressful to develop for a video game system. The Scratch Team would have to buy an SDK and license (normally around $5000), and then learn how the programming language works. I don't think they have the money or time for that.

How would it work on the 3DS, anyway? I mean, you couldn't possibly use the mouse and keyboard at once, could you?

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: 3DS Support

There was already a programming language released for the DSi in Japan based on BASIC, though it is third-party software, not made by nintendo. It uses an on-screen keyboard in the touch screen and built-in tools for creating character and background maps. Plus, it only costs 800 DSi ware points! I sure wish nintendo woulld actually make their own programming language. There is Wario Ware, but that is just a templated minigame maker.

OK, but I thought the point of this topic was a Scratch viewer for 3DS. Is that not it?

Re: 3DS Support

I just want some sort of scratch app for the 3ds, whether it be a programming language or a viewer, though probably will never happen
