Kill of a block.

I finally got Beta for MC.

I was crafting and something or some force attacked me from behind. Do animals attack you?

Could it have been lightning?

Go to options and turn it on peaceful.

If it is nighttime or you are in a cave monsters will spawn. Be certain to put lots of torches in your house and any caves you explore, and to sleep at night uness you want to fight monsters.
