Welcome to Scratch, bookworm778! A good thing to start with on Scratch is friends, and I'd be happy to be yours. I'm very experienced (well, not on this account) and can really help people out well. I practically make a business out of it in real life. Jk lol  lol  Anyway, you could join my company (Click on the pic in my signature for details). Being in a company is a great step for many Scratchers because it makes people feel more important. Hope you enjoy Scratch!
