In all seriousness though, that really takes some guts to do something like that. (For those of you who don't know or don't feel like looking it up, this incident occurred in June of 1989, one day after the Chinese government violently cracked down on peaceful protests in Tiananmen Square.) I really have to commend him for being so brave just to make a small silent statement like that.

The sad issue about affectionately named, "tank man", is that most of the Chinese public has no idea that he even exists. While I do not want this to devolve into a political debate, it is my personal opinion that governments should keep no secrets from their people.
I've taken a long hiatus, but I still visit sometimes. Give me some time to answer any messages you post on my projects!

Well, I completely agree with you. The Chinese government can be very controlling of its people and the information they have access to. It's unfortunate, really. I just wonder how long they can keep it up. The internet has proven very difficult to control.

I believe that the internet is the number one resource available to those seeking to gather information with or without their government's consent, and it is impossible to entirely shut it down.
It is my belief that China is currently being held together by fervent nationalism.

Well, China does censor a lot of things on the internet to prevent its people from learning more about the past. They can't block everything, but so far they've managed to keep a lot of information away from the public.
How do the Chinese people feel about their government anyway? I doubt there have been any polls asking that sort of thing.
