@LiquidMetal That's true- we still need a time limit- this can save the moderators a LOT of time and prevent spam. However, it CAN be shorter, e.g. 30 seconds. I'm pretty sure that will stop people from complaining AND spamming.
The complaining, yes.
The spamming, though, I doubt it. There are cases where the 60 time limit has helped in reducing spam.![]()
I'm just saying, it's fine to reduce spam and such, but people hate it, especially when they have tons of messages to reply to. (Like me.
)
I have that same annoyance, too, when I'm on other forums where the 60 second rule is on place. But I don't vent about, though, since I know why it's in place; I just go open up another tab and find something else to do to pass the time.
If anything, I think the default 60 seconds is a good time limit. From moderator experience, 30 is just too low to be effective in preventing spam.

Either that or have a super-spammer-detector to ban spammers even before they start spamming! (impossible)
This is a good idea.

And don't ask me why I decided to make the text bold, italicized, and underlined. It just turned out that way.

On the serious side, the 60 second rule is fine. It prevents spam and isn't an annoyance.

Maybe 30 seconds for active for a year accounts?
I also have tons of tabs open.

I don't have time to explain it to those who aren't up to date on awesomeness.
So now you're famous (but secret) and ridiculously awesome, and I'm a waste of your time? I'm sorry, but if I was the one who got to decide whether or not this got approved, I would instantly look at what you've said to everyone else and say, "This guy's just a snob who thinks he has the power to change things with his large ego," and I would instantly reject this, in part because of your apparently arrogant attitude (I just made an alliteration ).

Maybe a 45 second rule would be nice.... Possibly 30? Whatever, we're just lucky we don't have a 300 second rule (5 Minute rule).

59.99999999999999999999999999999? And what's the difference between 60 and 50? They are just 10 seconds apart! Then someone will post a topic called "The 50 second rule SUCKS." Even if the rule is shortened to 30 seconds, people will complain for sure. Just keep the rule... (I have shifted from the "Yes" side to the "No" side)

I have the 180 rule and I try posting once every minute, but have to wait. And anyways, good posts usually take more than a minute to write, as you need to think and write well. You shouldn't just say posts like "Thanks." "Lol " "OMG" and stuff like that. Instead, for example if somebody complements you on a project, say stuff like "Thanks," and then stuff like do you have feedback, what's your favorite part, and stuff like that, depending the style of the project. Egad, Miscellaneous has made everyone so impatient e.e

Completely agree
And before it was 1000 seconds... Then 360... Ugh.
And the funny thing is that usually New Scratchers are more supportive and kind, or at least from what I've seen. Well, I guess they haven't gone insane in Miscellaneous
And ElecticSparx, I mean, seriously, it is kind of snobbish to say you're famous and especially to later say you don't have time to explain to people like them, they call you someone with a large ego, and you call them a troll... Pretty immature man
But meh, I guess that's what Miscellaneous and fame does to people, I wouldn't know, I haven't posted in miscellaneous nor was I ever famous

Once I get Scratcher, (which I probably won`t for a while xD) I`ll do my best not to go insane from being in Misc.
