One last word here (unless I respond to your argument against my point):
Harry Potter uses love as such a big theme (it's main one really) you could make it sound mushy trying to describe it to someone.

But, but, but. Twilight is BASED on love!!! Can't disagree on that! Potter was based on spells and they slipped in some love to make it better. More reality like.

not really. love plays such a big role in harry potter. but hp's love is selfless and moral, unlike the slutty love in twilight

I didn't edit it. That's what you wrote.
I know what you meant to say. If that is what you want to say, add "n't".
Just try reading Harry Potter and see what you think afterward. (I'd try Twilight, but I'm not allowed)

But, but, but. Harry Potter is BASED on love!!! Can't disagree on that. Now read this lengthy article that's lengthy because of how much love there is in HP:
No I'm serious she didn't "slip" any love in, it's centered around the fact that love conquers all. In the first book alone somebody dies for someone they love. That's the whole reason Harry is alive in the series. Just because Twilight is based around obsessive relationships (I don't care if he stops a car for her they do it because they think the other is "hot") Harry Potter has more than relationships (which, unlike Twilight, spend years being made, knowing the other persons flaws and accepting them like you should if you love someone.) and also has the other types of love. In the end Harry's love for everyone at Hogwarts is how he ends up defeating Voldemort. By loving them enough to DIE. The central theme of Harry Potter is in fact love.
And Twilight is certainly not more realistic with it's love. When you love someone is it just obsessive lust because the person is attractive? That's essentially Bella's love. They never find flaws in each other, they each think the other is perfect. Nobody's perfect, and real love realizes that and looks past that. Like they do in Harry Potter. Take Teddy/Tonks, Nymphadora Tonks looked past the fact that werewolves are prejudiced against and openly admitted she loved him.
And HP characters protect Harry because they love him (and all the people he's protecting) what does Edward due other than kill some villains with his Mary-Sue superstrength.

what, slutty? as in dirty, or crude love? Well, it's what Twilight is. and don't yell, it gives you a bad rap here. Also, most people in misc. are like 13+. I suppose we could make another anti-Twilight thread, but then we'd have to redo all our hard work to establish the fact that hp is better than Twilight.

...okay. well I haven't read the books so...idk but Twilight shouldn't be called slutty on a TWILIGHT THREAD! Sure, its his opinion but seriously? on a Twilight thread?

Ok, that word really isn't appropriate . . .
And if you have a copy at your house do to relatives or something may I suggest the chapter "Princes Tale" from HP 7. The arguably most debated/hated/loved character in the series turns out that his story is based on . . . LOVE.
But I commend you for having excellent grammar whilst defending Twilight. Few do.

Thanks for your opinion. But seriously, it gives YOU a bad rap when you go and mouth off about who knows what. Sure that's your opinion but I think that you went a bit overboard. My rules clearly stated that there was NO INSULTING! So now these Potter comments have COMPLETELY ruined my thread.

So I suppose all the presidential runners get a bad rap when they "mouth off" about their rivals? Also, it's unfortunate that your thread was ruined (not trying to be sarcastic) but that was not just my fault
