2nd BSOD on Windows XP - URGENT help needed! :(

Error Report Contents

The following files will be contained in this error report:

C:/DOCUME~1/(my username here)/LOCALS~1/Temp/WER823f.dir00/Mini071411-01.dmp
C:/DOCUME~1/(my username here)/LOCALS~1/Temp/WER823f.dir00sysdata.xml

That was what it said when I opened the error report. This is my 2nd Blue Screen Of Death on my Windows XP. Both BSODs occured on a site playing a video. Both sites were McAfee green - I have McAfee SiteAdvisor. Last December, I had a virus. Although I did a System Restore, could it be the virus remains? Both BSODs were after the virus was supposedly cleaned.

Urgent help is needed, if you can solve this problem in any way, please reply!  sad

(Note: The virus was also supposedly caught on a McAfee Green website. It supposedly was on "icanhascheezburger.com".)

Edit: Currently doing a full scan on my computer with McAfee Security-as-a-Service.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Bump.

THE DAY THIS TOPIC IS NOT BOLDED IS THE DAY PIGS FLY!

I honestly can't believe a MC server gets more attention than a serious technical problem..No offense, but really?

It should say *x****** where * is random. Google that exact string. In quotes.

And if you think you have a virus, scan with Malwarebytes Free.

Towards the bottom:
"STOP: 0x00000050"

That's just a sample BSoD, though.

Firstly. scan with something besides McAfee, preferably Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Also. like IHG said, next time you get a BSoD, write down the error code and Google it.

Well, it only appeared for a second before it disappeared. Gives me a heart attack every time. Can I print screen it?

Really, you've only had two BSODs? You should feel lucky, I get it every other week  yikes

No, I doubt the virus held on after a system restore. It's possible, but very unlikely.

Sometimes the reason is extremely simple or arbitrary, i.e. a sudden spike in RAM usage. Have you ruled that out?

And of course, if you're still stumped, bring your computer into a specialist so you can get a concrete answer.

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

I know an extremely easy way to stop the problem, but it will start a flame war.
Instead, use this.

Re: 2nd BSOD on Windows XP - URGENT help needed! :(

upload your mini-dump to a file hosting service and give me a link so i can get more details. in this case it would be "C:/DOCUME~1/(my username here)/LOCALS~1/Temp/WER823f.dir00/Mini071411-01.dmp" or any newer dump that it created.

Would you rather have this:

Re: 2nd BSOD on Windows XP - URGENT help needed! :(

I got this from a website:
Stop 0x00000050 or PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

The Stop 0x50 message indicates that requested data was not in memory. The system generates an exception error when using a reference to an invalid system memory address. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause Stop 0x50 messages.

Possible Resolutions:

• If you added new hardware recently, remove and replace the hardware to determine if it is causing or contributing to the problem. Run diagnostics software supplied by the hardware manufacturer to determine if the component has failed.

• Stop 0x50 messages can also occur after installing faulty drivers or system services. If the file name is listed, you need to disable, remove, or roll back that driver. If not, disable the recently installed service or application to determine if this resolves the error. If this does not resolve the problem, contact the hardware manufacturer for updates. Using updated drivers and software is especially important for network interface cards, video adapters, backup programs, multimedia applications, antivirus scanners, and CD mastering tools. If an updated driver is not available, attempt to use a driver from a similar device in the same family. For example, if printing to a Model 1100C printer causes Stop 0x50 errors, using a printer driver meant for a Model 1100A or Model 1000 might temporarily resolve the problem.

The first, because they actually tell you what's happening.
Then the second because it has a bit of technical detail.
I hate the Mac one because it tells you nothing, so you can't fix the problem.

Yeah..This is a school computer (cyberschool, technically mine until i finish cyberschool), so some admin installed a restricted version of McAfee, and deleted the McAfee enterprise my dad installed. (much better!)
