Has anyone had any freezing or other problems using Scratch with Win 7 or Vista? If so, is there a patch or know fix? I am writing for other users but I understand with both systems they have had Scratch 'lock-up' and they had to re-boot and restart. Thanks!

i have had this problem too... or something like it. whenever i open scratch, (opening a project, or click scratch in the start menu or the shortcut on the desktop) it crashes. its infuriating, because i have stuff i need to do thats due next week... i run windows 7, and reinstalled everything twice, including using the files version of scratch, instead of the installer.

I'm running a Windows 7 right now and I have never had any issues with Scratch freezing.
However, some updates may cause your performance to drop considerably, which is why I turned auto-updating off. I learned that the hard way. xP
Other than that, it might be caused by too many background programs running, an old system, etc.

Maybe not as hard though. But, I don't know how hard you had to learn it

I also learned the hard way:
Made an update, auto-restarted and windows 7 (as expected) never came back to life. Well, because w7 doesn't come with install CD/DVD I didn't had one, through I had product key. So I tried asking Microsoft but if you don't have 'product ID' (which, by some reason, isn't the same as 'product key', which I had) support costs you over 70$. I tried asking in the forums but they said I can't re-download without re-buying, so I installed Ubuntu
Happy end!

I am using Windows XP (it's a desktop computer) and scratch is fine on it. We have a laptop with windows 7 and that's fine too.
