Again, I'll ask if it works yet.

I challenge somebody to get a simple game working with this!

Can you tell me exactly WHAT from dev.mysql.com i am meant to be downloading?

Plus, i only just got around to copying the code into flash. Works alright, just needed to add a brace at the end of the file.

Scroll down, select your operating system, and then download the appropriate package.

What IS this `Appropriate package?`

For linux, you'll need to scroll down to near the bottom and download the development package. I am no expert integrating MySQL with C, so you may want to consult an article like this.

Sorry about the hold up. This may be easier in the near future once I get better at using the packages. Have you been able to compile the server yet? If not, what errors to you get?

I'm wondering whether there is any demand for a more sophisticated version of FireMMO that includes extensions. Trust me, it makes it really easy to add new features.

Magnie, I've finished FireMMO for windows. FireMMO version 2.0 for windows can be found at http://firemmo.site50.net/firemmo2windowsbuild2.exe. Tell me whether or not it works, as I haven't tested it as much as I should've. Also, this version is FireMMO version 2.0, unlike the advertised 1.0, which makes all of the difference. It's mainly internal stuff, but the API is completely different here are just a few commands for you to test (there are more)

Hello, Win32
Binded
And i cant enter anything into the command prompt. Ideas why?
Offline
@Zeusking19
You don't enter in the command prompt. You telnet into the application (port 42002)
Once it says Binded, the server is on. (congratulations me) You need to open a telnet client. Using HyperTerminal, which comes with windows computers (XP, at least, that's what I made this on), you can telnet into the server.
1) Go to Start/All Programs (or something like that)/Accessories/Communications (I think)/HyperTerminal
2) Create a new connection, and name it FireMMO or telnet
3) Tell it to use telnet
4) Make the server your ip address (if it's on the same computer, just type 'localhost', or '127.0.0.1') and make the port 42002 (according to Magnie, the port for servers...)
5) Once everything is accepted, you should be connected. If correct, the server should tell you that you've made a connection
6) Finally, use one of the commands listed above to talk to the server.

Zeusking19, have you got HyperTerminal to work properly yet?
Offline
Windows 7 dosnt come with hyperterminal
-_-

Alright, go to the terminal/command line/whatever it's called (in All Programs/Acessories), then just type in: telnet (ip address) 42002 (no period) Then, just type in a command and the server will give a response (if you did it correctly)

telnet is not a valid command...
