Trying to put an image in the profile...

I tried to use one from my 'puter.
Once I hit "Update", it reloads the page with no pic, and there are "errors on the page".
Is there a particular format I should be using?  Can I use a pic from my 'puter?

I am not able to replicate the error you report. Could you send me the image you are trying to use to scratch-feedback[at]media.mit.edu along with the version of your operating system (i.e. Windows XP) and browser (i.e. Firefox 1.15)?

I have a mac and i can't write a folder
i can on my windows machine...
what am i doing wrong??
