Sprites and Background

Hi, I love the scratch projects and was wondering if there is a website that you can use to download free sprites and backgrounds that could be used in projects. Thank you for any suggestions.

Re: Sprites and Background

I find that doing a google image search works for many things.

Search for sprites plus the thing you are lookign for (eg - alien sprites).  For backgrounds, a search for "theatrical backdrops" yeilds some interesting results.

Lots of sprites here - ignore the "3d meshes" bit and concentrate on the "graphics" bit.

Another good site for video game sprites is:
http://www.videogamesprites.net/
The site claims to have over 12,000 sprites.  I've never actually counted, but I tend to believe the number.

Re: Sprites and Background

Or you could just search for 'Animated GIF' inn Google if you want something that looks like it's moving for your game or animation.
