I don't use the scratch "paint" feature to make my drawings (I use Corel Draw), but when I try to put my highly detailed drawings into scratch the quality just dropps and everything i did was a waste of time. So, for Scratch 2.0 how about better drawing software that will not drastically reduce quality.

If a image is bigger than 480x360, Scratch automatically resizes it. Resizing causes drops in quality, perhaps that's what's causing your problem.

The drop in quality is caused by your image being resized to fit into Scratch's 480 x 360 resolution. I believe the ST is weighing the possibility of increasing the stage's resolution, so your idea in a way is already being considered.

Because I do sprites this would really improve the image quality... (I hope ) I support!!

Also when you publish there is a little thing at the bottom saying it will compress image and sound quality. If it won't be a small project I'm afraid it won't work because it will be to big of a file.

The quality drop can also be caused by Scratch not supporting any kind of color-transparency gradients. If you use anti-alias for your lineart, Scratch will make it ugly.
