The five regional fairies represent the Chinese Wu Xing philosophy.
Wood=Celebi
Fire=Victini
Earth=Mew
Metal=Jirachi
Water=Manaphy
"Wood feeds Fire, Fire creates Earth, Earth bears Metal, Metal carries Water, Water nourishes Wood."
This cycle is known as the Generating Cycle. Other common words for this cycle include "begets", "engenders" and "mothers".
or
"Wood parts Earth, Earth absorbs Water, Water quenches Fire, Fire melts Metal, Metal chops Wood."
This cycle is known as the Overcoming Cycle. This cycle might also be called "controls", "restrains" or "fathers".
So you're saying that those are fairies?
Sorry, but I can't see how a squid and a burning mouse could possibly be fairies.

They all have something on them that looks magical. And fairies aren't always little cute humans with wands and wings. Have you ever heard of "culture" ?
Go look at the definition, go look at the chinese one for faries, and come back. Good day, sir.

In Pokemon HG/SS, Blaine's gym was inside of The Seafoam Islands. It's one of the few gyms not inside of a city or a town.

New Fact: In the original Gold/Silver Cinnabar Island is destroyed, but you still need the 8th gym badge. Later in the game, you find the leader in a cave and battle him....... So what's with this? The guy lives in a cave, and waits for people to beat him up for his badge....hmm....

Well, it's not exactly THAT unknown, but for a few generations, Curse was the only ???-type move. In Generation V or something, the ???-type was removed and Curse became either Dark or Ghost-type (I forget which).
