64-bit Linux

The .deb installer for Scratch won't install onto my 64-bit Ubuntu because the file is for 32-bit machines. I tried installing Squeak and then using it with the standalone Scratch .image, and it works except for the save. Whenever I try to save, a little box pops up and says that the save boxes are undefined. ???

Re: 64-bit Linux

I really need a solution to this if I'm going to perma-install Ubuntu.

Re: 64-bit Linux

Have you looked at the Scratch on Linux page? It has instructions for forcing the .deb installer to work on 64-bit systems.

I wasn't able to do that, but the Windows version runs well in Wine.

Interesting. You'll probably have mixed results depending on the hardware and distro, but if it works in Wine, I suppose problem solved anyway.  tongue

Re: 64-bit Linux

In Ubuntu, go into the Ubuntu Software Center and search "Wine" (without quotes). Then click Download.
