It looks as if hpotter134 has already covered the keys track, and I cannot yet play yet anyway (long story) so I guess keys are done  tongue

Well I just noticed the played out both the keys and guitar on the guitar  tongue  Let's just use that.

I've been messing with ideas for the logo... When I read the name "Frozen Coco" I instantly thought of a coconut inside an ice cube for whatever reason, so I thought of using that.  lol  Either that or the drink of the same name.

Re: Frozen Coco - A Scratch Band

Yeah, I intended to do two tracks, one with the actual guitar part, and one with the guitar covering the piano, but I forgot to separate them.

I sat down at the keyboard and banged something out...is it good enough? it's on SoundCloud like everything else.

I also redid the guitar part, to give you some more choice, and hopefully it's a bit less sloppy.

I like the sound of the bass!

Maybe we can get some vocal takes while we wait for the drums?

Ok, I'll download both tracks and I'll see what I can do with them  smile  Yes, some vocal takes would be great as well  wink  On the meantime I'm using MIDI drums and vocals to mix, haha.

Which graphic arts stuff, as in banners or something that perhaps would be suited to an album cover? Either would be great ;P

here's my drum track for 'my voice to you': http://soundcloud.com/jslomba/my-voice-to-you-drums. make sure the drums don't come in until after the 2nd riff.

Yeah, really needs a different font... Heh I just had a drawing of a rough logo somewhere, I'll take a pic of it quickly ;P

Sorry to say this but it's kinda sloppy still, I'm having trouble getting it to fit with the song  hmm  All I could really use was the first beat you did. Did you play along to the song like everyone else?

Re: Frozen Coco - A Scratch Band

That font looks better imo, more "cold" which kinda fits the name of the band. Here's my quick sketch so we have more to pick:

Yes, that's a coconut in an ice cube. :B I posted it for the logo below though.

I'll try using that one and I'll let you know how well it fits. Ideally you should use more than one microphone when recording drums but I understand you could have limitations on that (i.e. you can only record 1 mic at a time on most PCs)... Try getting one that can pick up low frequencies (less than 100 hz) well without distorting (clipping) since your current clips a lot when you hit the bass drum.

Btw, enable downloads for that track plz  wink

As for the account I guess it'd be fine but I'd rather not have one until we get this song done, so we can upload our songs (and at some point, music vids made on Scratch as well) to that account. I also think we should request a name change for this thread to something like "Frozen Coco - A Scratch Band"  smile

Re: Frozen Coco - A Scratch Band

Still can't fit the drums well  hmm  Could you perhaps tell me in which bar of the original score you join in to see if I'm right? Because it doesn't really seem like you're joining at the same time as the original drums.  hmm

Regarding the logo:
I like technoguy's font. And maybe put the penguin in a lounge chair?

I'm DLing some software to start working on the logo  wink  Using jslomba's mascot. Not sure about the lounge chair, the mascot is fine as it is now.

Btw can you record the vocals sometime soon? I don't have much to mess with yet :c I'm still waiting for the drums as well.  hmm

Hope it sounds better, now I listened to some recordings again and it sounds like it's tuned a bit too high.  tongue
