Hey techno! I'm out of town, so I couldn't make a proper audition, but I threw together a really quick track here for you to take a look at. Please excuse the bad melody part, it was on a banjo (not my native instrument), and I was figuring it out on-the-fly. I'll submit a better audition once I'm back in town.

But you're auditioning for keys, banjo is nowhere near a piano or keyboard I guess it could count as an audition for composition though

Okay. I'm pretty [removed by moderator] intent on naming this band. how does "Frozen Coco" sound to you?

Keys? I think you've got the wrong guy. I'm the guitarist, and the banjo was in there for melody purposes, because I felt I needed a non-guitar sound for the melody. But the only "audition" part of that track was the rhythm guitar. The bass part is actually played on my guitar and then octaved down on the computer.

If it isn't too late (tl;dr) I'll ask for voices. My audition will be here 3pm Scratch Time or earlier.

Oh, sorry for that lol Seems like your audition could count as mixing too, do you want to audition for that as well?

Done.
Also if we end up without backup singers, uh, I guess I could sing some stuff. Can't reach high notes to save my life though, so only some low harmonies.

I could probably ask leebee to audition since SpriteMaster doesn't think he can since he's sick. Quoted.

I've been trying to get smileywink to audition but she doesn't want to because, she thinks her mic is messed up. I will get her to audition >:D lol.

Sure, just record yourself singing something and I might consider you.

you guys actually might have something here. but, id like to make a few suggestions. first off, recording drums with a USB mic is not gonna work.so an alternative would be to use drum sim software. same goes for synth. next, for people who have recorded multi tracks, tempo and timing is key, accounting that i noticed lack of tempo in the drum tracks. just a few suggestions and tips
also, i can create just about any kind of album/single art you want. i also play guitar. i play mostly pop-punk, but can play a few blues scales

Why won't a mic work?

The ideal thing when recording drums would be to have different mics on each drum - one on the bass drum, another on the snare, other in the hi-hat, other for the toms and one overhead. And ideally, all those mics should record in a pretty high quality, unlike most home use mics. Personally I found your recording very lacking in bass, but I thought of placing bass drum samples over the track or something like that, idk
Synth/keys are usually better connected directly from their input to the recording device imo, yeah. And obviously tempo is key, I suggest we record playing along to the song (in case of a cover) or to a metronome.

I uploaded a slightly rockier song here. I just wanted to get an audition out there before the deadline for consideration, but I'll get more auditions out there soon.
But I'm open to criticism, is there anything you would have me do differently?
