So what song should I sing? Or just anything for the audition?

Re: Frozen Coco - A Scratch Band

Anything really. Whatever you're good for.  tongue

sydrodk, would you mind uploading some audio of you playing guitar? If you're good enough I can put you on guitar and I'd be on bass.  smile

Also edited the main post - now each one of you will need to upload a short audition so I can see your skills  wink

Ok, added to main post  smile  Hey, recording2 on that project sounds pretty good, loved those chords. Perhaps you'd be better off playing the chords while I play the lead, since recording1 (which had some melodies rather than just chords) was kinda sloppy, but I'll assume it was because of the mic - hopefully you can find a way to hold it properly.  wink

I've never used mic stands (or mics at all, haha. I connect my instruments directly to an USB interface), but I guess you could buy a cheap desk stand and you'll be good to go  smile  Either that or you could figure out a way without buying anything.

I didn't write it, but oh yeah, sure. Change it if you need to but try not to change the root way it sounds, you know?

Re: Frozen Coco - A Scratch Band

We need a name for the band. I'll suggest a couple:

Crazy Owls- I thought up this name since I am an owl fanatic, but I'm not too sure everybody will like this name.

Scratch the Kats- This is after all a band on Scratch, right? In my opinion this is a good name.  smile

I'll make a Weebly website once we come up with a name.  smile

THIS if it didn't sound too similar to scratch_the_kat, an user.  tongue  Something mentioning kittens perhaps? :B

rabbit, I'd rather not use autotune (perhaps only veeeeery subtle autotuning, that's used often anyway). Do you have any sample of your work?

And to those who don't have any kind of audition for this... Please record one, I need it  hmm

Re: Frozen Coco - A Scratch Band

I may join for some keyboard synthetic sounds, but I can't play any super complicated beats...

You see, I never actually took piano lessons but I have a keyboard and I'm pretty good at coming up with beats...

Thanks, the sound quality on my mic is good but it can mess things up sometimes. The first recording isn't one of my best so I don't expect much from that.

K, added brettman to the list - awaiting auditions.

jslomba, your audition doesn't really have the best sound quality and it's kinda sloppily played imo.  hmm  Perhaps veggieman could be the drummer and you design the logo once we decide on a name? If you're good enough you could be our graphics guy when we need advertising, album covers and the such  smile

Do you own Autotune? It's like $700.

I could play some synthetic stuff and help write some of the songs...I'll send an audition soon.

What I need is a singer who can actually bother to record an audition of some kind ;P Having 4 singers to pick from would be good though, perhaps I could pick 2 if we considering backing vocals.

did veggieman do well on the keyboard audition? because my drum one, I couldn't find my good mic and I was in a hurry and I couldn't come up with anything good, so maybe he could play keyboard and I could play drums.

This is my first audition. I will be doing more than one. You have to wait a little before I start singing.  smile

He's a pretty decent keyboardist from what I heard, but I still need to hear brettman's audition to decide.

@designer45: Pretty good singing, you seem to have trouble reaching a high note in the end but I don't really mind that. You could try to get a better recording quality though, not sure if it's just Scratch compressing the audio though.  tongue

hey, you know I kind of suck actually  hmm

what if I helped smooth out some of the audio and developed some basic beats for songs? maybe write some notes for a few of them...
