The Flag and Report Buttons

Have you ever seen something inappropriate on Scratch? Maybe Scratchers were arguing about something.  Well, there's an easy way to stop that! Use the flag and report buttons!

On the forums, there is a button labeled "Report". When you press the Report button, you are taken to a screen that asks you why you want to report the post. Just enter your reason, and click Submit!

On the main site, there is a report button, but it is labeled "Flag" or "Flag as inappropriate". If someone posted a project that has swearing, hit that Flag button! If a Scratcher posted a mean comment, hit Flag!

If problems persist with a Scratcher, you can add that particular Scratcher to your Ignore List. On your My Stuff page, click Edit My Ignore List. Type in the Scratcher's username and the reason why you are ignoring them.  Then, you don't hear about any more from that Scratcher!

Things you want to flag or report:
- arguments
- inappropriate material
- spam
- swearing
- posts offending other users
- flame wars
- duplicate threads
- signatures that are too large
- topics in the wrong forum

Also, you can report your topic if you would like it renamed or closed!

In my years of Scratch, I've seen a few examples of things above. Instead of fighting back, I hit that flag or report button! Don't fight back. That is called "feeding the trolls". When you feed the trolls, you get involved. And you shouldn't get involved.

I personally think the flag and report buttons should be red. That way, more people would be aware of the buttons. This is on Scratch Suggestions. If you'd like the buttons to be red, click here.

Also, if you want this to get Stickied or put in an ITOPIC, click here and here.

Thank you for reading this guide to the flag and report buttons. I get happy as the views go up as more people read this guide and seeing votes for the "Red Buttons" campaign. I appreciate your support. So, thanks again!

Also, please share if you use these buttons or not.
