Okay, so I have been contacted by a person acting like the CEO of NAMCO. I need help determining whether its genuine.

that guy sounds fake.
I don't believe a professional company like namco would be so rude and insulting.
that message seriously irked me

Okay, good. Now to the issue about how my name is apparently on public domain...

I don't think it's real. Other than the ridiculous posting style and the fact that it's a forum post that are obvious clues for fakeness, the person who sent the original DCMA notice came from the American branch of Namco-Bandai, so it should be through an American branch of Namco-Bandai that we should be receiving any kind of notice.

Another genius post from Cheddar. How you do it is still a mystery.
You are, therefore, awarded with an e-cookie.

I honestly don't think he would act so rude. Also, he would use more legal jargon (

It could be through anything. I've seen people figure out names of Scratchers through other sources (like Facebook, for example, when people give their scratch username).

Yay cookie! *om nom nom*
There's a couple of other things I could point out wrong with that statement. But the falseness of that statement is just so obvious that I don't feel like pointing it out.
You know, I wonder what the real Shukuo Ishikawa would think about that statement if we mailed him a copy of it. It's obvious the letter is fake, so maybe Ishikawa could sue for slander and false impersonation (or whatever is you call it in legalese).

I don't have a fb or anything else of the sorts...

Maybe he used your IP to find your name?

Well, Facebook is an example, but there are other ways. Sometimes we release things on the internet that, if anyone spends some time searching long enough, could find your name.

Aah. I think that might be the case. Or it could be... I reported a name.

If "Mr. Ishikawa" is said to be in Georgia, and everyone is saying it's scratch_yoshi, couldn't you just check scratch_yoshi's location and see if it matches up?

Proxy server, looked up the IP.
Now, just decode who is behind the proxy.

Thank you. Now help us decode his proxy. We're working on it for great justice. ;-)

fake...
But save a copy so you can use it as (fake or maybe not) evidence if this ever goes to court...
However I doubt that anyone high ranking like that would dare put anything as rude as that into writing

That was the cruddiest experience on any forum

Apparently the link is broken now, but I'd say it's fake simply because he's claiming to be the CEO. The CEO of a company would never take the time to do something like this; they've got better things to do.
