Hey there!
Recently I've been working on a replica of the first rival battle of Pokemon Blue, and thought that I'd release some information about it to let you know how I'm doing, if you're intersted of course.
I'm designing it so that I can easily add more pokemon to the player's party, handle different moves, with their individual types and power points. Also the move animations are included.
I doubt I'll be uploading any demos, because I don't want to release the code really, but I will when I have replicated the whole fight. I then plan either make a few towns of the game, or to make a pokemon tournemont sort of thing, depending on what Scratch can handle.
Progress
22nd June
- Fixed a bug where everything would be cleared when a certain broadcast is activated
- Health bars now work correctly
- Correct health stats for each pokemon at each level, using the same equation that was used in the original game
- Correct damage calculations, after a very long script! haha
- Health is updated by damage
- Think thats enough for one night.. Will start on enemies turn tomorrow
21st June
- The player can now select an option from the main menu; fight, item, pokemon, run
- When the player selects to fight, each of the pokemon's moves will be instantly shown, with their types and power points.
- The player can now select which move they want to use
- The animation for the move "Scratch" now works.
