So, I stumbled across this girl while researching young artists like myself. I found a few pieces or art on Google Images painted by her. I was instantly gobsmacked.
Her name is Akiane.
I believe she is 15 (?) now, but if you see various examples of her work from a young age, it seems to be too amazing to be true.
At 4 years old, most children draw wobbly blobs with dots for facial features, and wonky sticks jutting awkwardly from the blob as limbs.
If you see what Akiane drew aged 4, it seems a little... dubious. Too good to be true.
What do you think? Do you think it's all a fraud - some parents desperate for attention?
See her work here.
Her brother Ilia is sickening - a 7 year-old 'philosopher', 'artist', 'poet'...
I think he's pigggybacking off his sister's fame. He appears to have no talent for painting whatsoever. Random daubing of paint on a giant 10ft canvas isn't exactly mind-blowing, is it?

Exactly what I thought. Her parents could help her or something.
The Jesus one seems suspicious too -_-

...Wow.
It looks fake, but it could be real.

+1
I'm doubtful, but it could be real.
The early pieces make me think it's a hoax though. A four or five year-old understanding the concept of shading so deeply? It beggars belief...

It's real, even if some are too stubborn to believe it. Do you really think she'd get away with that if her parents did it for her? And, her parents were atheists, they wouldn't help her draw a pic of Jesus...

We're not stubborn, it's just INCREDIBLY hard to believe.
Some ADULTS couldn't draw what she 'drew' aged 4, and it just seems suspect to me, and to others.

tiger woods was beating high schoolers at golf when he was 17.
People can actually do some cool stuff, believe it or not, and so I believe it's real...

it is better to see than to seek.
But for prosperity of eternity and prosperity of the infinite eye
it is better to seek than to see."

Her bro splats plaint on a canvas in an amateurish way (like finger-painting by a baby) and sells originals for like £20,000+
And I (and anyone else) could do the same.
I don't really believe it.
@jfmlove6 - Really? Has she seen all the pictures?

Yes and no. Yes that she said she believes it, no she has not seen all the pictures. She believes it because my sisters daughter(long story) made amazing pictures when she was only 3.

You know artists make splatter paint that sells for a lot of money.
Also, what does what her bro do have to do with whether or not she made the paintings???

because they're both posted on the same site/blog.
if they're lying about the kid, which they are, then they're lying about the paintings.
i get what you're saying though. normally i'd believe something like this; just seems to over the top.

What were they like? As a tiny kid, I drew hair and faces and got all my pictures in the entrance to nursery because apparently I was 'amazing'.
@brettman - Yes, but the fact that her bro was totally unknown until she rose to fame - would he have really got famous by himself?
And as for what Ilia has to do with whether or not Akiane made the paintings: To me, it seems like pushy parents. Both of the children are obviously advanced for their age, but really! Elaborate hoax? I think so.
Also, the 'philosophy': does it really make ANY sense to us mere mortals? Or is it just waffle?

Well, I guess if they continue to be epic later in life people will find out

Makes sense to me. I want to become a philosopher later in life, and so I would like to do exactly what this kid is doing. (minus the * artwork)

Also, painting in real life is harder than on a computer.
