Having different servers is nice, if everyone wanted to play on your server they'd play your server, but they don't.

We're not failing at all, we have a temp map so nobody wants to do much because in a few days it will all be gone, once we have the proper map in place everyone will want to play and build a house.

And yes, there was a server which did that, but people are already adapted to their own server and the server's plug-ins.

People will be mad if you don't add a certain plug-in, others will be mad if you do. People play on PS because they like it, people play on your servers because they like it, if we mixed them together everyone would leave because they didn't like it (due to plug-ins, players etc).

Hey, you're right. We'll try and negotiate the plugins with the server owners. :)

The server owners don't care but the players will.

As an example, say you used MCMMO and many players made dirt factories to get glowstone and cobble generators with lots of seeds to make mossy cobble.

We merge

Players are annoyed that they can't get glowstone from dirt or produce mossy cobble.

They ask for it to be changed and it is.

Other players start complaining that it's way too easy to get mossy cobble and glowstone.

It gets changed back.

Some players quit.

OR we could keep separate and those who like MCMMO can stay on the server that has it and those who don't will stay on the server which doesn't, the owner doesn't decide opinions. I'm using MCMMO as an example, I don't care if all servers have it, I'm just using it to represent a plug-in.

And uh, not meaning to be rude, but lets negotiate the merge with the server owners as well, and not with the public.

That's idiotic. It should be the public's choice, or people won't get their say and the majority might get something they don't want.

Ya. If people a bunch of people want the merge, and we dont' merge because one OWNER doesn't want it, then it really only spites people  hmm

No, we still won't merge if too many people are against it, we just need to discuss terms first.

Ok, guys, I'm going to leave phoenix, and all the other scratch servers if at least two of them don't merge, because we just need more people.  Also, something that qaz and shamble were talking about that never got publicized was the idea of per-world plugins.

But then we'd need several worlds, meaning we'd need more RAM than usual and there'd be more lag. Speaking of which- Darkerworld, are we going to split the server costs?

What I'm saying is, exodus has 3 worlds, and it only has a gig of RAM, scratchia has 3 worlds, it only had a gig of ram.  If qaz, the exodus people and you kept paying what you are currently paing, we would have like a 2, maybe 3 gig server, plenty for a creative world, and a world for each server or something like it.

True. I'm paying $11.50 a month right now for 512 mb, but I just found a host that offers 1 gb for $10 a month, plus $5 extra for a MySQL database. If everyone is paying $10 a month right now, we could pool our money per month and get a 4 gb server with that host ($29 a month). We'd also want a MySQL database, so that's $34 a month. Here's the host I'm talking about btw. I haven't tried them yet, so I'm not sure if they have problems or a catch, but they appear reputable.

Finally unbanned, read my rights and stuff, it's all junk.

The spawn will be the dead center of a 51x51 park, with skyscrapers all around it. This'll be the main city, it'll be pretty big, maybe about 500x500 (about, we'd need to make it a number so the lots will fit in nicely). Outside of that is a 400x thick ring around it, this'll be the suburbs and it'll have all houses. Outside of this is the ghettos, run down houses and gangs with low quality shops, probably about 50 thick. Then everywhere else outside that is rural area, due to the new code in the full release farms should be a viable solution to food and any other animal product.

Lots in the city will only be owned by the city, you can rent out some rooms in the planned skyscrapers though.

Also, would everyone stop saying it's the end of PS? We have a temp map before the full release, that isn't failing, that's a temp map.

And only one person has a problem with me now, I've sorted it all out and apologized and I'm back to playing like normal, seeming there's stuff to do on the server now I'm not so bored, running a shop was boring, can't imagine what living in a normal house would be like. I AM sorting out my anger problems, but I have tons to do and I'm pushing it back to after, for now I'm residing in being sarcastic, if anyone has a problem with that please tell me and I will be more than happy to listen  tongue .

Last thing, what material should we use for the skyscrapers? Wood and cobble will look weird, stone brick looks too medieval, stone maybe and iron block would take waaaaaaaaaaay too long to get.

Peace.

I have many things to say.
First and foremost I am glad you are sorting out your anger problems  big_smile .
Next, DUDE THAT IS WAY TOO BIG FOR A SPAWN CITY. The area you are suggesting is for it to be 1300x1300. IT TAKES DAYS TO TRAVEL THAT DISTANCE  tongue . One thing also is that the so called "skyscrapers" you are talking about (I haven't read the last few pages of the forums) you say shouldn't be wood, cobble, stone brick, or iron. Duh, not iron, but have you ever thought of a combonation? I know everyone makes solid one-material-besides-glass houses, but that doesn't mean everything is like that. Stone, you say. I like the idea of being medieval , because we don't have things like cars and such. And we are going to be brewing potions and casting enchantments  tongue .
