Re: Have anybody tried Stencyl?

I downloaded Stencyl and checked it out, and I like what I see. I'd even go so far as to claim that it's actually based on BYOB, at least in incorporates many features which strikingly resemble BYOB's, to name a few highlights:

- custom blocks, including reporters, both local and global
- "inline palette" for parameter blobs in procedure definitions
- %parameter notation in the custom block spec dialog
- zebra coloring

All in all Stencyl is pretty awesome if your goal is to create Flash games, and I can definitely recommend it.

If you're more into CompSci, Stencyl misses a few things, or maybe I did not look hard enough to find them:

- first class lists (although they have MAP etc. for several built-in lists)
- Lambda (which Java doesn't have - yet - either, so it probably doesn't matter)
- (arguably) too many blocks :-)
