I thought being on the site will only help me to get Scratch programming. Wrong! I also learned HTML which can be very useful. Thanks to Bluestribute, Jman, coolstuff and a few other members. Thank you members who helped me with it, and thank you Scratch!

There are often beneficial side effects to learning any new programming language, regardless of how useful the language itself may, or may not be. For example, my personal opinion is that Visual Basic isn't a particularly useful programming language. (At least there are much better alternatives.) However, VB 3.0 was my first exposure to event driven programming which has stood me in good stead for many years for many different languages, including Scratch. The more languages you already know, the easier will be the task of learning the next one. And if you stay in the programming field, there will always be a next one.

What he was saying is that learning a more real programming language can really further your programming experience, eventually moving on to more complicated programming languages like C++, Java, PHP, etc.
