Is this legal?

Is remixing your own project legal? If so, how do you do it? By donwloading, changing the name, and then uploading it again?

Thanks

Thanks. Would it delete my older one unless I rename the remix?

If you don't change the name it will overwrite your old project, unless you are sharing it to an alternate account.

And in no way is it illegal  smile

Re: Is this legal?

Of course it is legal.  If you have the project on your computer you can just change it if you want to, save it under a different title, and upload it.

Re: Is this legal?

Of course! You can remix anyone's project so long as you give credit. What could be wrong with altering your own work?

Yes, but if it's a remix of your own project, you don't need to give credit. If you did, I'd call that 'giving credit to her/himself'.

Re: Is this legal?

Dear undefeatedgames,

I apologize for my late reply, so now I am merely confirming another user's response to your question.  Yes, remixing your own project is quite legitimate.  I believe it is all right to remix all projects, as long as the creator of that project doesn't allow anybody to.
All other questions that have been answered are correct, I believe.  So my reply is actually no use to you other than a confirmation of what you've already heard.  Thank you!  I'll be glad to answer any other questions that you have.

Sincerely,
     tswiftrules

Re: Is this legal?

Lol - if it was illegal to reproduce something you've already done, than wouldn't that kinda stuff up the singing career?

Re: Is this legal?

I always upload my game beta's to my test account (Porygon-Z), and if the game is final, I upload it to my main account. On the main account it always says:

meew0 shared it somewhen ago
Based on Porygon-Z's version of Porygon-Z's project

See? It is a remix. Of my own project. And it is legal  smile

Re: Is this legal?

@tswiftrules a certain part in your post 'as long as the creator of that project doesn't allow anybody to' That would ruin the scartch Slogan, 'Imagine . Program . Share'

And yes you can, what would give you a silly idea that you cant!
