no sound on scratch?

i've been scratching for a pretty long time, and just a month or two ago, the offline scratch is soundless! i feel like i am in space. i can't see if the sounds go with the movements, and so on and so forth....

Odd... what operating system do you use? I know that on Windows 7, you can adjust the volume of different programs. Scratch could be muted, so open Scratch up and then open the volume mixer from the task bar.
