So this is an idea I had for in the Scratch Suggestions, but it's changed up a little. If someone wants to offer up their services for this forum, they can respond here. This is so there is less confusing posting in this forum.
This is the basic set up:
-New Scratcher comes here.
-There is list of Scratchers willing to help he/she can choose from.
-He/she posts a) The Scratcher they would like to help them.
b) What type of project they are making
c) What they specifically they need help with
-The Scratcher chosen should respond with a link to a project that contains what they think the new Scratcher is asking for.
-The pair of them discuss and edit the project in the comments of that project.
-Once the problem is solved, the Scratcher's name can be put back on the list.
I decided to make this topic because I think a good amount of new Scratchers don't see any forums except this one. So, this is like a personalized version of All About Scratch.
NEW SCRATCHERS LOOK HERE:

Added you. There was a seperate thread for this, but oh well, doesn't matter yet.

Bump. Hm, maybe we should advertise it a bit more.

A very cool idea! The Scratch Team has discussed the idea of "Mentors" in the past - experienced Scratchers that would help out new ones - but we never made any real progress with it. I'm excited to see you folks trying to tackle the same issue.

Agreed...should we put up a project on all our accounts or something?

I would join, but I'm not really great with most of the types of programming New Scratchers would want. Good luck to you though!

Righto. Again, there was another forum for signing up to help in. This is for the new scratchers to post on.

I think the Scratch team should continue this idea! What exactly did you have in mind to do?

Basically what I wrote up top, however, no new Scratchers have responded yet...

GoombaGeek doesn't need programming help, but thanks for asking.

I'm not sure about the idea of asking for a specific Scratcher. It seems that some questions would receive more complete by different Scratchers based on the experience/skill in the area. A new Scratcher doesn't know which scratchers are known/good at Game Trees, AI, Animations, 3d, etc.

Look at the suggestion that I made on the other forum thread. I think that's what you're talking about.

I think this is a good idea because
1: new scratchers have better projects
2: new scratchers get to know older scratchers
Awesome work dudes keep it up!

I have a question, how to you make your character jump? Please help!
it depends on what you want to do, look at my "Dataworld" scrpts for when up arrow pressed, just change the block "chenge scrolly by yspeed" with "change yposition by yspeed"
tell me if you have more questions

Who would you like to help you right now? Me? If so, hold on just a minute...

What if New Scratchers have experience already? They might want to help others too.
My story:
I started programming with Scratch a while ago but I didn't make an account until about a year later. I know a couple things that could probably help other people. I like helping others and would love to help even more.
Other people might be sort of like that also.
Please consider this.
Good Luck!
