Why do people always treat loveits as currency? It's not like we only have a limited supply! I just don't understand it! I think everyone should give loveits more often.

It's a common belief that the more love-its a project has, the more people checking it will be biased into thinking it's good, because everyone else thinks so.
Of course there is no direct correlation, but since New Scratchers often get very few love-its, they consider them valuable.

It is really a way of knowing how "good" a project is, but since the number of love its is (indirectly) proportional to the number of view a project has it is inconsistent. In addition the interests of Scratchers add more inconsistency, but nevertheless, love its are the way that many members judge their own projects and others. And of course, it's never bad to have tons of love its
