Could you post the project? It might help a little with identifying the problem.
What it sounds like, you have a sprite that is walking and you want it to change costume? Either that or you want to have it point towards a sprite once it's at a certain point?

you could, instead of making a new sprite, click on 'costumes' and draw a costume and then go to looks and use [blocks]<when[ ]key pressed><switch to costume[ (you do have to connect the two, but i'm also new so i don't know how to. sorry)

I don't know how to connect them on the website but I can connect them in scratch

Ever wonder what those 'costumes' are? Well, I'll tell you! If you make a new costume, one of the sprite, say, just standing, and then you have another costume of it pointing, you can go to 'looks' to add costume change. Help at all? Like you could add,
When space pressed, next costume. Therefore when the person pressed space, the sprite would go from standing to pointing. If they pressed space again, then he would go from pointing to standing. But if you don't want that, you could do,
When space pressed, go to costume 1. I hope this helps!
