Error: Could not connect to smtp host "localhost" (113)

This message has started to show up when posting messages in the Forum:

Error: Could not connect to smtp host "localhost" (113) (No route to host).

User dbal has gotten it twice and I have gotten it once.  Sometimes it results in a blank post, other times it appears to have no effect.

Re: Error: Could not connect to smtp host "localhost" (113)

I think this only happens when posting in a thread where someone without a valid email address has posted a comment AND has subscribing to the thread to get updates about it via email.

We also just moved to a new server and maybe that's causing it. I wish we had more time/people to look into all these details...

OK. I think I "fixed" it by disabling subscription to topics.

Re: Error: Could not connect to smtp host "localhost" (113)

Thanks! I was wondering where my "show your subscribed topics"  button went! Maybe there should be a "bookmark this topic" button that allows them to be in a list, cause now I can't find anything. Thanks for fixing it!

Do you think that the ability to subscribe and get email notifications will be coming back?  I hope so because I use it all the time.

I almost never check my email, the subscribed thing for me was just so I could see if anybody replied to any of my topics.

That is another good use for the subscription capability.

Re: Error: Could not connect to smtp host "localhost" (113)

Actually, that was the only reason why I subscribed in the first place. Now, I can't see the topics that interest me at a glance, but I can find them slowly. Maybe a "bookmark topic" is needed?
