Its a HARD DRIVE, not a stick!
Normally C: is the main drive... Do you really have 3 HDDs?
We have an extra plugin hard drive thing that could be E. Its a backup Hard drive though.

E: is the disc drive (CDs, DVDs, etc). A: & B: is for ancient floppy disks. C: is the main hard drive, and D: is the data. F-I are usually USB ports.

Mine is different, D: disc, I: & I think E: are USB, I & E was on our win xp, win 7 my stick is I: rather than E:. Main is C: as usual. Our backup doesn't show up... not sure why.

Well, really, E: is not always the CD drive.
My first computer had the disk on D because it had only one HDD, but my later ones had E, F, G and even H as a CD-ROM (All the rest were taken up by HDDs). USB's also change dynamically, depending on which order they were inserted and what drives are available.
C: and A: are the only default ones (and even A can sometimes change).
This is because the letters are not glued onto the physical disks, but rather assigned by the operating system you are using. That's why even on dual-boot machines C is always the home drive.
Anyway, what's the matter if E broke? Can't you use your computer?
