How do I make a link to my project from other projects?

Well, the way you make a link anywhere in Scratch is to copy the web address from your browser (while viewing the project) and then paste the address into the comment or the Forum posting that you are typing. However, it is considered bad manners to make links from somebody else's project to yours without their permmision simply as a way of advertising your project. The prefered approach is to post a new topic in the Show and Tell area of the Forum and put a link in that posting.

i have xo laptop and i want to install scratch, and i choose MacScratch.dmq to download to my xo. After i got it but when i open,it let me to save again!!! stupid...... so what can i do for install scratch?

That's what the mods will do to your email if you don't get rid of it! And I have no clue what an xo laptop is, so sorry, I can't help

Jens published a link a day or two ago that indicated that Scratch is already pre-installed on the XO laptop. See http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Activities#Programming

For Bluestribute and anyone else who may be interested: Although I know very little about it, XO is a ruggedized laptop produced by the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) project that intends to make a laptop available to every child in the world. As I recall, the early versions of the XO even had a built in electrical generator for use in locales where electricity is less than reliable. However, someone told me the other day that the built in generator idea didn't pan out so well so it has been abandoned. In any event, assuming that the OLPC project can work out the logistics, I think this is a great idea.

By the way, another Scratch user who goes by the name of DrSuper is involved with the XO and the OLPC project. Perhaps he can create a thread enlightening the rest of us as to the facts surrounding this great project.

Sorry for getting off topic but it seemed like a worthwhile thing to do in this case.

Oh, O.K., thanks. I was kinda confused why they chose the OS version, and I still am a little because it seems that the XO laptops aren't Mac, PC, or Linux. But now I kinda have a clue about what they are (and es, DrSuper is a member. I dunno if he's the right one, but he is a member)

I am a member and new one at that. I have been a pioneer in using virtual manipulatives to teach math since mid 1990s. I am no expert on OLPC but I believe that this is a project with incredible possibilities and would like to get in. Some one at the Lab can let us know how the two projects will come together.
