Anti-Remix Setting?

Should games have an option to make it so it can't be remixed? Not so far as it can't be downloaded, or it won't work offline, but just that if it is downloaded, it can't be uploaded as a remix. I think this would be good for games that people put alot of work into and simply don't want remade or remixed.

I highly doubt that the developers will ever add this feature so I'm just asking your opinions.

Do you ever have a project that you want to share, without letting people make edits on it?

Why are you asking? Do you want that for one of your projects? (Sorry for answering a question with a question.)

If so, maybe you shouldn't say which one, or it may become a remix magnet.

Re: Anti-Remix Setting?

I think this belongs in the suggestions forum? I personally would disagree with implementing this - does the remixing system Scratch uses deal with this in almost any case? You can easily see when your project is remixed and go see what they're done!  smile

Re: Anti-Remix Setting?

they will have to change the scratch motto to "imagine | program | don't share"

Re: Anti-Remix Setting?

Remixing is one of the core elements of Scratch as part of the 'share' aspect. While not the same, this is related to the idea of locking downloads, which has also been rejected by the ST for very much the same reasons. I don't see it going away.
