Pokemon Crimson/Chrome

Hello! I'm going to be starting a pokemon hack called Pokemon Crimson, and it's counterpart, Pokemon Chrome. This is going to be a LeafGreen hack. The forums can be found here. It's not a forum to discuss random topics-it's only for the pokemon hack discussion.

If you want to support this hack, please put this banner in your signature linking to the forums or this topic!

After recieving the latest technology, the PokePhone, your mother tells you to go to the PokeMart. A letter has been sent addressed to you. The letter was sent by the Prof. Beech, wanting to meet you on Route 1. Leave the PokeMart to recieve your Running Shoes. At Route 1 (above Everset Town) the Professer will be waiting for you along with another trainer. The professer is holding a briefcase. Inside are three PokeBalls, and one will be your starter pokemon...

I'll finish writing later.

Sounds cool.  tongue  I've never been able to make a Pokémon hack before. Maybe I could make suggestions? BTW, are you using Advance Map?

AdvanceMap and MANY other tools...I've collected quite a few over the years but I'm not so sure some of them work on Windows 7.

D: I've had that problem too. RPG Maker VX wouldn't work on my computer, and then I figured out it was because Windows 7 uses 64-bit processors as a base, and not 32-bit. But heck, I'll still send in suggestions for this.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: As I was typing "send", I accidentally typed "sned".  lol

Re: Pokemon Crimson/Chrome

I suggest changing the region's name. All of the other regions have an "o" sound, but Belumn doesn't.

J-oh-t-o
Kant-o
H-o-enn
Sinn-oh
Un-o-va

Belumn just doesn't have that "o" sound.

Neither did "Isshu" before it was changed to Unova.  tongue

Maybe just change the name to Bolumn or Belomn or something.

I'm actually pretty mad at Nintendo for all of the terrible English names. Unova? Snivy? TEPIG? Seriously, they can do better than this. They're not even trying.

I actually thought Tepig was a clever name, considering it's a weak Pokemon (being a prevo), based on heat, and based on a pig.

WOAH, please, discuss my hack, not BW.

Just to clear it up:
Tepig's name comes from Tepid(luke warm) and Pig. It's actually very clever.  big_smile

They weren't trying. Besides, names have no real "value", as I could just name any PKMN I get or catch anything I want and be done with it. I could name one I get Potato. (I haven't yet, fyi)

Back on topic, do you hard code all of your events by using a program such as XSE (I do)? Or do you use other programs?

Pretty Hate Machine, Broken, Closer To God, The Downward Spiral, Further Down The Spiral, The Perfect Drug, The Fragile, And All That Could Have Been, With Teeth, Year Zero, Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D, Ghosts I-IV, The Slip, Pretty Hate Machine 2010

Yes, and Snivy's comes from "Snake" and "Ivy"

Anywho, back on topic. Again.

i know what they come from, but they're pretty lame puns. the fans, when only japan had b/w, called tsutarja "smugleaf". wouldn't that have been nicer?

hacks are generally downloaded as an ips file and patched to a rom using a program like lips.

Re: Pokemon Crimson/Chrome

Actually, I'm very new to the programming of hacking (please don't hate me for this) but I can design some VERY good pokemon games. I was hoping that possibly I could hire (for free) some people to do the programming. I would do the design, some programming, and the graphical images. I am very good at programming and it's my favorite thing to do, but I don't believe I could become good at pokemon hacking programming without some time. Does anyone know how and willing to teach me?  smile

By the way, with my limited hacking skills, this game may take 2 years at a minimum...but the end result will have a great storyline and a great pokedex too.

I would offer to help, but I'm absolutely stumped on any programming language but Scratch.
