Well... I wouldn't go that far. Different types of schools work for different types of people. Public school (especially high school) has been awesome for me, but I can see why other people prefer homeschool or private school.

No, just cause private school cost money doesn't mean they are rich and care about themselves. I used to go to a public school back during December, I switched cause I wanted more fun things like field trips.

@knowing if you're learning: Homeschooling isn't always fully independent... in Wellington there's a homeschool organization and stuff. You have to apply and all that; trust me, it's fine.

@friends: No way! Yes, some homeschoolers (lots of people complain that you can't find any girls, but that's not true tongue ) may not meet as many friends, but most take outside classes too, which is a great way to meet people. And along with that there are lots of get-togethers - it works.

Next year it will probably be even better for me for two reasons:
1) There will be more homeschoolers (maybe)
2) I will know the language better

Homeschooling isn't completely independent - in Wellington, there's a homeschool organization where you have to apply and such. It's organized...

There are homeschool get-togethers, where a lot of homeschoolers get together at a specific place. There are also activities (such as drama or swimming classes) that are based for homeschoolers...

Homeschoolers do have friends, and plenty of them too.

Hmm, I wonder how many people here have experienced both sides xD I've never been to one of those schooly schooly school schools though. The most I've been to is some other stuff that was a bit more relaxed... and homeschooling is more fun :3

1. You can take outside classes, which are a great way to make friends (I have classes on Monday through to Friday sometimes)
2. Some places have communities like the one in Wellington I mentioned - there are a lot of people, and it's great! You can meet up lots of people
3. There are ways to make friends without school or homeschool tongue

@Alternatives: Yeah, you miss out on some social experiences (I kinda feel bad about that sometimes) but you get other stuff in return. tongue
