Scratch, OpenCobalt & Middle School Students

My name is Rich White & I have been teaching middle school "World Builder" classes the past 5 years for an education service center in Kansas.  The past few years we have been leveraging Scratch, OpenCobalt, & Opensim.   There is a current Scratch implementation for (SL)/Opensim scripting (huge cudos to Eric Rosenbaum, as the kids LOVE IT).  It has also occurred to the students & myself for some time now that a Scratch4OpenCobalt implementation would be the more "perfect" tool for our project, and I would assume many many others (either a loose or tight implementation ranging from a Scratch4Opensim type of integration to a more tight Alice like implementation).  I wanted to  see if perhaps there is an interest with any of the projects to discuss how an integration might take place or a prototype might be developed? I have a few dangling pointers below if anyone is interested o.O .. please forward to those that you think might want to explore the idea?

A few points & musings:
* Both are written in Squeak
* The Scratch Source Code: http://info.scratch.mit.edu/Source_Code
* The OpenCobalt Source Code: http://www.opencobalt.org/downloads

Please feel free to note ideas & pointers here as well --> http://goo.gl/CTzwK

Cheers !
- Rich
