I don't know if you're whitelisted. But nearly everyone can't get onto the server anyway because Bukkit needs to update to let people on the server if they have 1.5.

I just got a glitch on SSP: I was walking in my house at night when a skelly fired an arrow which went through my window and nearly hit me. Weird.

It's not a glitch. You need to place your door from outside your house or enemies will be able to hit through it. Also a plus, you'll be able to hit enemies through it if you place it from the outside :D.
