(oopsies, I can't spell that quite right. o3o;)
So, have you noticed how everything's so inconvenient? I have really realized lately that the world don't care 'bout effort. It doesn't care about quality either.
I usually put no effort what so ever into my projects. But, occasionally, I effortize a few. Ironically, the most pointless one gets about 100 some views. Leaving the ones with even a tiny bit of effort unviewed. It's just so ironic.

I attempted to make a 100% effortfull animation. I gave it a background, I shaded and colored it. I even made a thumbnail picture for it! But, what happens? My laptop shuts off. I haven't saved, but luckily, I saved a few. I have to redraw the other sprite. *sigh* Things don't go well for me. =_=;
I've relearned and learned some things. "Be prepared" and "Quality & Effort aren't wanted here. We want Pointless and Random. Give us something to be disappointed at."
Though, I don't agree with the second thing I learned. O^O;

My featured projects are the ones that took the least effort and time (Under 3 hours).
Ones that took months of work get maybe 100 views with lots of advertising.

It's because most of the community has too short of an attention span to view anything that might require them to use their brain or that's over 30 seconds long.
If you want views, make stuff aimed at stupid people.

Haha, I still think we should have an advanced.scratch.mit.edu
or something for truely advanced scratchers.
This site will be for kids to play with and get to know scratch...
Whatdayall think?
That would be cool, but that would only divide the community even more.

The game I'm making keeps crashing Scratch and/or my computer, so I need to expand my RAM before I can do any more work on it.

You have made me fear for the game I release tomorrow.
I hope that's not really a direct correlation (though today's front paged Scratchers tend to enforce your point).
@fg: Sounds like a fair idea, but how do you draw the line between "advanced" and "not advanced"?

Life isn't fair. I've learned that the hard way.

This is just a basic outline.
There would be a rank, Advanced Scratcher or something. For people who joined 2008 or earlier. Or joined for more than 3 years, just to keep it advancing, once you get "promoted" (nothing new, just a new title) you will get told about the new site privately.
Then you can access the new site. Also, you can make a request to join the Advanced site instead. The scratch team will review it or something.
