What just happened to my iPod?

I tryed to open Cydia, then a chime came on, then it went to the turning off screen.
I hit the home button and the lockscreen came up. What happened?

Maybe you...accidentally hit the lock button?

Re: What just happened to my iPod?

A) Mac is not terminal based. It can't get viruses.
B) Windows has too many viruses while Macs have... 1... 2... Make that 2. Yeah. Wait, no, it's ZERO. ZERO.
C) IPODS CANT RUN WINDOWS!

Macs can get viruses. The only difference between mac and windows is that the virus must be approved by apple where as, with windows anyone can create a virus and download it.

Look, this isn't a Windows vs. Macs topic, it's a "halp me with my iPod" topic. Keep the Win vs. Mac discussion in a Win vs. Mac topic.

I'm going to restore it, then re-jailbreak it.

Now you see, look at the amount of control they have. To make a virus you have to slip it passed apple. A date activated one will result in the worst damage...

Yes. They can kill apps with a button.
Google phones also have an app kill button at Google HQ.

Note: Button is not physical they need to type in a command on their system.

Re: What just happened to my iPod?

On Topic? I think not!
Probably the app has a problem. I think you should press the Report a Bug button on the page you downloaded it from.

bye 1.4, we all loved you. but we all outgrew the site. 2.0 is a welcome change.

Wrong. My Mac crashed 100,000,000 times. So yeah, not true.  sad  (although I wish it were)

Re: What just happened to my iPod?

I swear I posted here...hm.

In any case, I had this problem as well. What did I do? I had to SSH into my Pod, then delete all the links to the repositories. However, I don't remember where it was. Navigating the file system is like doing a impossibly hard maze.

However, in my case, mine shut down Cydia as it was installing something. Doing the above fixed all.

As for you talking about viruses, stay on topic. This was never a virus problem (well, so I hope), but people always assume it is when something goes wrong.
