Actually, in one forum I used to go to, they had a policy of not allowing any links whatsoever - no links in sigs, no links in posts, no links in profile page descriptions. Now that's going pretty far. What forum is it? Remind me not to go there ever. XD
It is going very far; I'm glad they don't do that here.Don't shout that too loudly, they have the power to do so...
They once turned off [img] tags, right?

xD You sound like an awesome person.
I joined 3-4 years ago, but I've made more accounts, and I know what it feels like. Being restricted from the community.

I agree completely. Also, commercial spammers probably wouldn't wait the whole 15 days anyway.
I think this is completely and totally unfair.

I wouldn't be surprised if you or other Scratcher haven't seen them, the technique that spammers were using makes detecting the spam pretty hard. Commercial spammers post and then make sigs after 15 days - what happens is that most users don't see the sig spam (unless they decide to go 15+ days back worth of posts), so by the time the sig spam is detected, the SEO damage as been done already.Yes, but all the posts i saw were already SEO spam, no signature included And i normally check up on those topics, so i can report them straight away
You check up on topics that haven't been posted in over 15 days or more? I never imaged a Scratcher who would check up through 22 pages of old topics in one sitting.
.
I read through some of the huge topics

By sig, don`t you mean signature? xD

yes, sig is short for signature, some people like to call them abbreviations, it means a shortened version of a word; used to reduce the amount of effort people put into their typing.

Nice idea, at least it is one step to avoid those spammers. By the way, can someone please clarify what a spammer is please? Thank you very much.

I would have to agree with veggieman001 regarding readability. I have lots of experience in writing/semantics and one of the most common things to know is that Titling Things Too Often and CAPITALIZING is not effective for fostering readability. Sorry Sellout =/
