It will never work!
I have an issue. I can't play games! I saw some other forums where you told them to update Java. Well, It is updated, yet nothing works, whether I use Firefox, SeaMonkey, Opera or Safari! Why?

Maybe they are just working on the website. I don't know. I use IE and it works fine.

I have no idea why it doesn't work on safari but, I started using Webkit and now it works fine.

Maybe it doesn't work because you need a new version of java, but mabye not. Or it COULD be that the games are taking REALLY long to load. This happened with me once. Some computers don't work, for example, my friend was playing on the scratch website and the next day it didn't work. Try doing lots of different things and hopefully... It will come up!

Scratch says choose a file when i open it but it doesn't let me choose a file(not even scratch files! 
) please answer!!!!!

It means to choose an image file, meaning a Squeak file. Just go to the directory Scratch is in, and voila (excuse the nonexistant accent) and Scratch should open!
