I have a question for those people who work at MIT. Does scratch help on a college application for MIT or does it not help at all? What I am really asking is if I have the same grades as some one else, would I have a better chance because I have used scratch for a while?

I really hope so. Then I would have so many things to put on it, like a 4.0 GPA

Yeah, I hope so to. I wonder why the Admins haven't responded to this yet. I know mletreat was on when I posted this. Any information would be helpful!

I think it may depend on what you are going to collage for. If it involved computer programming mentioning scratch may be somewhat beneficial but they would probably be more impressed by what you can be in other languages like java.

Not sure I can help much on this topic - I myself didn't go to MIT and am not too familiar with their admissions process. My guess would be that some programming experience would be a helpful thing, but that it will be considered along with other things such as grades, test scores, number of applicants, etc.
Sorry I can't be of much help
Good Luck with your applications!

Thanks for answering mletreat! I am not at that point in my school career yet, but it is approaching and I was just wondering about it.
Thanks for the help!

Ya, since I like internet stuff (not very smart, but web designing, game making, etc) so I think it would be helpful
