Where would the ore in the ore chest come from? Us. You put your unused ore in a chest so you can gain extra ore while you're waiting for your turn. The ore will be exchanged for other ore, and so you gained a sort of "interest". Get what I'm saying?

Ok, so. You put, say, 64 coal in the ore chest... Someone trades it for, say, 16 Iron and pays 1 extra Iron as a fee. So you earn 17 Iron? But how would the interest work?

No, what I mean is the fee is the interest  . But basically that, except you aren't earning 17 iron, you're gaining 1 iron.

I got that some seconds later and edited it in, heh. But 1 iron is nearly nothing, so maybe keep the percentage concept, rounding it a little though. Per every 10 mineral you offer, you pay 1 more. So if you offer 16 you pay 2, if a full stack (64) you pay 6, etc.

...That's still nearly nothing though. If we do it that way I'd "buy" for sure, but not "sell" since I'd gain nothing.

Ready too upload, but probs. with mediafire, I'll have to do it in about 12 hours.

If not maybe just a little tower with lots of glass windows and smoothstone walls could be fine. You know, like most modern buildings.

Sure. Though smoothstone is incredibly hard to make 'cause it takes so long. Wood tower would be better.

What's being standardized, actually, are the currencies and their conversion rates, not the prices themselves. Both Target and Wal-Mart in the USA use dollars, and let you use all kinds of coins and bills of the US dollar. 

So you could sell a raw pork at 1 diamond if you wanted, but what's equivalent to that diamond is going to be always the same if A or B is chosen.

Maybe we could elect a president and a ministry. There could be the Minister of Mining, Minister of Commerce, etc.

Not everyone pays taxes, taxes aren't even what we'll implement. The thing we're discussing is a fee for trading ores. Still that isn't a definite, permanent change, it can be still discussed.

And obviously InvEdit isn't and will never be allowed.

Also, I say no to governors, especially not multiple ones. Just one might be good, but it makes sense only in SMP imo.
