Ok, ScratchCraft is a Minecraft based game, using a 2D-3D engine (
Ok, explanation needed for this right? Right! A bit like Drawn 2 life If you press up on a door you will go to a new area, normally a house or mine which you are building. So a 2D-3D engine is a scroller (or platformer) which uses 2D graphics with abilitys to go into new places.
)
The Monster Engine (
This will be the hardest thing to develop. First we could use the normal sprites: Creeper, Zombie, Spider, Skeleton, Slime. Creeper would present a big problem though. Mainly the Blowing up problem, where we would have to Create a layering system for it, which would need at lease 3/4 layers. Attacking into different rooms might be a little dificult, but it isn't that hard actually, it's spawning the monsters that's the real issue!
)
The Layering System (
Briefly referenced in the Monster Engine, Need ideas. Submit as TLS: Then your idea

nope its going to fail like 99% of all games in ideas, plus you would need to change a lot of things in the game to other things because alot of things in this game wouldn't be applicable to 2D such as enemy ambushes, skeletons, caves, minecarts, boats and most of all, the level generator would be extremely difficult to make
edit: plus when i first saw this i thought it was star craft, change the name

Are you trying to diss me? Me ssss, the person that made a sensor for the experimental viewer? I could do it with help, or alone! I just decided i wanted help.
And if you don't have anything good to say! Don't say it at all!

Uh, making a sensor for the experimental viewer isn't all that amazing...
Anyway, I'd love to see how this turns out, but you can't use the minecraft texture, it's property of Notch.

Lol, Using his texture would take about All of the JAVA players memory - it will be semi-bad quality to get it to work (Wait till the Flash player!)

lol - this is based on minecraft! It isn't actually minecraft! It's a special game for scratch which will be a mixture of games!

thats a main reason you shouldn't another reason is that ambushes in minecraft is what makes it tough, fighting enemys head on is simple, ambushes though... plus a lot of other mechanics wouldn't work aswell.

the only thing in the OP that wasn't minecraft is that you go through doors or some kind of thing like that...

well... this would be a good time to kick in Project Universal.
Players could draw their own sprites and make them on another computer. I'm currently fixing bugs of the mirror effect and wrong statements being sent.
