Oh, BTW, I'm adding simple anti-spam functionality. Basically, it limits the number of chats you can send in a certain (probably configurable) amount of time, e.g., if in the config, it's 5, you can only send a chat message every five seconds. It would make it longer if it's the same chat thing. It will send you a message if you try to send a message too soon, and if you do it too often, it will result in a kick, and eventually a ban (which can be undone). This was inspired by those chatspammers we got a while ago.
I think Jeb added antispam already and NoCheat can deal with spammers too.
I tested, no antispam. Also, I thought that since this was just an extension to ChatManager, it seemed like a good idea to add.
I mean like hacked clients spamming a lot of messages under a second.

Is the hamachi network full still? I made my laptop leave because I was reinstalling the OS, but it says it's full when I enter the info in. Did someone take my spot?

Sooo, LogMeIn changed around their system in regard to client limits in Hamachi. The limit is now 8 clients per network instead of 16, but they've got 3 paid levels of benefits instead of 1 (the old commercial license). The Standard package is only $19 per year and offers 32 clients per network, so I may get that.
Oh, and walt, Minecraft does have anti-spam protections, it's just really tolerant for some reason. The01er tested it after you left, and it worked. (He tested it a few too many times, in fact. )
To everyone else: You probably have noticed my lack of activity lately. (You better have! >_>) This is due to 2 main factors:
1. Homework
2. Nitronic Rush
The latter is an awesome "experimental survival driving game" that I've become addicted to and regularly compete for scores on nowadays. Unfortunately, it's so resource intensive that my laptop simply cannot handle it at a comfortable playing speed. Thus, I go on the local good desktop computer at the house I'm at currently to play it. This often results in me being glued to the computer downstairs (at least at my mom's house) without touching my laptop for long periods of time. So obviously this isn't working out. I'll try to balance my time better in the future, but don't expect rapid-fire updates and all that. (I'll probably end up just taking my laptop downstairs when I'm at my mom's; the gaming comp at my dad's is just across the room from my laptop setup.) I'll most likely be focusing more on Minecraft on the weekends now.

I would love to join, but I really don't enjoy Creative mode that much.

That's okay; we have a growing group of people who are surviving in this one area. Come on when there's an OP on and they'll teleport you there. (And of course, when the server is up "in full" with Bukkit and all, the default will be survival.)

Ohai. Gah, I need to get on here more often >_<
Oh, and FYI, the server will come back up...eventually. I'm not going to say "Okay, this is dead now," though. Just wanted to make that clear.

I just got my computer fixed so I can play minecraft again But I keep getting an error message about it not finding an OpenGL mode. It says I should update my video card drives but I did that and nothing happened. Help anyone?
EDIT: I really should switch back my sig and profile pic but I lost the old ones when my computer's hard drive was wiped.

Who messed up the nether fortress? That's survival territory.

When does it become totally survival? I hate creative maps.

I don't care about torches. Those help me see
I'm talking about who blew it up. It was bad enough, but someone made it worse and destroyed the spawners. Technically that's survival grounds, so whoever misused creative mode there will be penalized.

my lil bro wasp accidentally destroyed a spawner and meant to tell walt about it but thats all he did
i was also using beds to create a small hole in the side of a connected cliff and collect netherrack

So it was the_waspman? Ok. Also, we don't mean that bed thing. We mean that it was completely destroyed. We also mean that we should regenerate the nether (after we collect the netherrack from the farm.)

completely destroyed? wasp only destroyed 1 spawner, not the whole place
he said that when he got there it looked blown up but i told him it was just part of the scenery
then he said he guessed ghasts probably did it

Its just that the damage is far beyond what a ghast could do. The original state of destruction was manageable, but it got so much worse. There were two spawners that were gone from before, and the fortress was at an even worse extent in terms of being blown up.
Ghasts could not have done it unless there were like 500 of them.

Mhm.
So anyway, my birthday is next Monday
To remember the past history of the server, from its roots on my laptop when I first got Minecraft to the great glory it achieved in the summer months, I'll have some sort of "anniversary mode", where people will be able to browse various stages of the world (but not edit it) to see how the server has grown over the months. I'll consider keeping the temp map up on a separate address. And I'm getting great progress on having a finished server package ready to be deployed into the new server

While it's down, would you guys want to play on my server? This is an awesome server. I wish you could get someone else to host the old map and the one you have now be the 1.1 map. Ohai! I guess this is Walt or Skirm who is reading this, so would you guys want to play?
Offline
ATTENTION: As of now, temp.minecraft.totalconcat.org points to the temp server. minecraft.totalconcat.org will be used for the "anniversary mode" later; I am currently uploading old worlds in preparation for that.

(Oh, and Handout Person nominations are still open, BTW, so if you feel like nominating someone, head over here! (Don't forget to read the guidelines in the project notes!))

Well, looks like I couldn't get anniversary mode running today. But my birthday isn't until tomorrow anyway, so I have an excuse.
